Learning day by day

Shady Family

What a glorious day. We went for a family walk on Oughton Common today. Stopped at the waterfall for a family shot, no idea why the Monkey looks so serious! Wandered on past the head of the stream and found a lovely little tearoom for walkers and cyclists, cars by appointment only! Refuelled by coffee/water and cake we walked back to the car.

Once home we changed footwear, left Daddy to have a rest and scooted into town. We stopped for coffee, Carys coloured in, but W refused to colour in insisting instead on practising his writing!

Back home and they were both captivated watching the World Indoor Athletics Championships, whilst I ignored the rugby scores. Fantastic that the kids got to see GB gaining so many medals today. William told me very earnestly that one day he will run like that and no one will beat him (reminded me of a little girl who at the same age told me she was going to be a hurdler and beat all the boys and I wouldn't put it past either of them!). I would love that that comes true, but if he just develops a love for sport that helps keep him on the straight and narrow as he grows up I will be happy.
