My Life With Luna

Train! What Train...

We had bought rail tickets to travel to Norwich today, arrived at Ipswich Station and read on the departure board that the 8.44 to Norwich = cancelled due to overrunning engineering works!!
So we rearranged to travel next Wednesday and instead went on a fantastic jaunt through villages we hadn't been to before and had a wonderful time. In the village of Marlesford on the way to Southwold (scenic route) we came across this Victorian Wall Postage Box. Apparently boxes were originally green but were changed to red during 1874-1884. This one was manufactured by W T Allen who produced these boxes from 1886.
With the demise of Royal Mail I wonder how long these old boxes will be in use.
