Somewhat eventful day
Today there were many many candidates for a potential blip- in the end Ivy's first trip to the beach required being marked.
First of today's events- Ivy did some amazing sleeping. She got evicted from our bed at 3am, because she kept scratching my nipples instead of eating and slept in her cot until 7am. Euan (who yesterday morning was desperately googling 'how the hell do I get baby to not wake up at 5am!) was very pleased. She then slept for almost 2 hours as a mid morning nap- I think she'd have gone longer, but she'd flipped herself onto her tummy and I kept prodding her to check she was still alive...
After school we went to Ardmair beach because Euan recieved a nomination for 'Winter Challenge 2014' and was required to dunk his head in the sea. Ivy has seen the water before- we've taken her down the front and walked to the allotments which are on the coast line, but she's never properly seen the tide. She was mesmerized- it was beautiful. She also enjoyed kicking the pebbles and picking up the seaweed. Can't wait till the summer to take her lots of exciting outdoor places.
The power was out in the village- had been out since about 2pm, so I suggested to Euan we drive up to visit Don, Elena and Elseanne in Ridoroch as they are so remote they are off grid and have a generator so could make Euan (who had just got out the sea) a cup of tea. We had very tasty chicken soup with cheese on toast to dunk in it and Elseanne showed off her amazing sitting skills and how good she is with her hands. She and Ivy have totally different skill sets.
Driving back the sunset was once again amazing, so we drove out to Rhue for a proper view. Unfortunately when we got back the power was still out, so Ivy had to eat her mashed up avacado by candle light (she didn't mind) and have no bath before bed. I improvised lanterns by putting candles inside beer tankards that could be carried about- was rather dissapointed when the lights came back on since I was having so much fun with my little light. Euan was pretty pleased as he can watch arsenal hopefully not be massacared to badly by Bayern Munchen...
