Splish, splash, splosh, YAY!
Today I was allowed off my lead for the first time in almost three weeks. Yay!
Last night PadstowBabe phoned Ann. 'PadstowBabe' is a vet in the ‘Highlands of Scotland’ and she has been incredibly kind in supporting Ann through my traumatic time with my poorly ear. She has reassured Ann every step of the way that I will be OK and has answered all Ann’s questions with sympathy & knowledge. We soooo wish that she lived in Cornwall and then she could be my vet.
Anyway PadstowBabe said I would be OK to go for a run on the beach and go swimming in the sea though she did say it was probably not a good idea for me to roll on stinky things.
It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon so off we went to the beach. Normally when we go to the beach I get let off my lead at the steps leading down to the beach, and then I have to sit and wait until Ann says, ‘Molly go play’. Well, today when Ann took off my lead, I was so excited that I forgot to sit and wait. I just went zooming off. Ann was very cross with me. She said, ‘Molly come here right now. You’re almost 10 years old, you know what the routine is.’
I immediately went back to Ann because I knew if I didn’t, I would be going straight back on my lead when she caught up with me. The trouble was; when I went back to her she made me wait twice as long as normal because she said I’d been naughty. I hadn’t really been naughty?! I’d just been excited!!!
Anyway it was fabulous down on the beach this afternoon. Ann was really happy. She said, ‘Molly, it’s lovely to see you running around and having fun.’
And then I went splishing and splashing and sploshing in the sea. And that was fun too.
..................And I didn’t roll on anything stinky because I couldn’t find anything stinky to roll on.
My dog sitter is taking me for a long walk tomorrow morning (when Ann is at work) and Ann has told him he can take me back to the beach for another play off lead. Yay!
......................And then we’re heading off for a walking weekend in the Lake District with Ann’s sisters. YAY!
Things in my little collie dog life are pretty much perfect right now!!!
