Doha Days

We live quite near the sea here in The Persian Gulf. Unlike the Edinburgh seaside which can be seen from many vantage points the sea here is bordered by flat sandstone desert and you often stumble onto the beach almost without realising it. Unlike Porty Beach the coral and pearl shells here are very eye catching and we will keep looking for one that may have a magic pearl inside. I am reliably informed that the odds here of finding a pearl are about 1 in every 200 shells! The alternative is to visit the pearl souk and shell out for one or two there.

It has been much cooler today and this evening thunder has rumbled round the tower blocks of Doha City illuminating the skyline in jagged white zig zags.
