Raise a glass

I have raised a glass to my dear Mam.

Today would have been her birthday.

They say time is a healer. I now know this is not true. 7 months after Mam left her earthly life the pain is just as raw.

But I am learning to live with the pain. You do, don't you.

I miss Mam terribly. I have especially missed calling her to wish her a happy birthday, making arrangements to get together to celebrate with her and Dad; and sending a card.

We are having a charity "do" tomorrow in Mam's memory. It was one of her wishes and it promises to be a great occasion.

It has the makings of a very good weekend.
