Up Helly Aa - London?

Spent today in London - mainly at the fantastic new Vikings exhibition at the British Museum. The centrepiece of the exhibition is the 40m long longship which is a mixture of historical artifact, modern engineering and work of art.

It's definitely worth a visit, and I'll be back for another look before it closes.

Outside the museum, filming was underway for one of outreach events linked to the exhibition. And they were using what looked like one of the replica boats built for the various Up Helly Aas on Shetland each year. I'm sure a ritual burning would be a good way to light up the Bloomsbury skyline one dark evening.....
