I think I packed to many beanies…

These were Holly’s words before we left the house to go to the airport. We had what would have to be the epitome of a bittersweet day. We made sure to keep busy and did this by first having brunch with our two families then going to the movies, The Monuments Men. It was alright.

We then headed home and got pizzas watched tv, basically did the simple things we enjoy that we won’t be able to do for 6 months.

The goodbye was predictably hard but fairly positive for that sought of thing. The bitterness came here, more than a couple of tears were shed on both our behalves and watching her walk though those doors and disappear leaving me standing there alone was tough…but to be fair I texted her about 2 minutes later, that helped ease me into it. So that was the bitterness, the sweet came with the knowledge that she is doing something great, starting a career, travelling, living overseas and hopefully have a whole lot of fun! I am prouder of her than I can put into words and know that she will be excellent at all the experiences listed above, and do it in her hardworking, positive, Holly kind of way.

I can’t wait to see her blips!
