Follow Me

Have been reading the novel Animal Farm again recently. I notice however, that this time I'm far more aware of the many themes in the book.

Even though it's now almost seventy years since it was first published, George Orwell's work continues to influence popular and political culture, and the term Orwellian evokes for me thoughts of totalitarian or authoritarian social practices.

I saw this sculpture this morning and thought of the sheep in the story - it struck me that, even in the 21st Century we have a lot to learn from this book about the importance of adult education for the masses.
