Lady Cardinal
As I finished my morning walk I spotted two female cardinals in the backyard of the house we are staying at in Florida. Now the walk turned into a run, as I rounded the last corner to the driveway... I bolted inside to grab the camera... assemble the monopod connection as I'm on the move out the back door... a few adjustments on the fly AND I can't get the screen door to the pool area to open!
I guess 7:15 am after 3 days of driving is too early for my brain to kick in completely. :-/ Eventually, I rattled it open and I couldn't believe that one of the birds had remained after all that racket. This was taken in a semi shady area, but it was the only bird that worked out today, so I went with it. We did go out to a pier later in the evening to look for pelican photo ops, but the wind had them fishing a little too far away for me to capture a decent image. I happened to learn that pelicans gracefully land in tress though... On the other side of the bay, each tree had several pelicans in them. Too bad we couldn't get to that side!!
Today was sunny and warm, but very windy. Tomorrow we are expecting thunderstorms, so we'll be looking for indoor vacation things to do. It's always interesting blipping in the rain. ;)
