LOOP day 2

What an amazing sleep we had and I really did not want to leave my bed!! After an amazing breakfast we were off again on our motorbikes. At this point I should say Alex fell off his bike just in front of the restaurant and had to get it washed and bandaged. It was really lucky that the only other people having breakfast were of a medical background. One of them was a nurse and the other was a doctor and had some medical supplies with them.

So we were off and the road was even worse than yesterday, so it was taking us a long time to cover any distance. The scenery during the drive was absolutely stunning and some of the nicest I have seen since travelling. We eventually hit some Tarmac and were making up for lost time. I noticed Alex wasn't behind me and so we turned around to investigate, only to find he had crashed!! He was in a bad way and really looked shaken up so we drove to a safe place to check him over.

Well would you believe, two minutes later the French doctor and nurse drove past us. They came in and checked him over and told him he had snapped one of his ligaments!!! This is where the day ended horribly wrong as it was a logistical nightmare trying to get Alex and his motorbike to a hotel. It would never have happened if it wasn't for the nice French men and an American couple we had met the night before. It was a proper team effort and now I'm writing this blog from that hotel room shared with Alex.

It was decided myself and Alison would put Alex on the bus tomorrow morning back to Tha Khek along with his motorbike and we would continue on with our trip. So we are sitting watching Die hard 2 in Laos!!! Living the dream.
