Casserole with a lid

Early start today. Fried egg butties and a cuppa tea for strength before tackling a series of double locks.

Thankfully we went up most of them with a lovely couple and their boat, which made it easier. We provided entertainment at a staircase lock when our two boats were going up and another boat was coming down so we had to do a crossover. All perfectly good boating etiquette, just a bit tricky to fathom out the logistics.

Moored up for a late lunch at the truly wonderful Olde Barbridge Inn. One of those places you instantly feel welcomed and at home.

I had a casserole with a lid (a pie has pastry *all* round, where I come from).

So good it was that we stayed moored up and went back again at night for pudding.

If you're in the area, I really recommend it - it's lovely. And we could moor up right outside :-)
