Aft Bridge
On an anchor handling tug, most of the work is done on the aft deck. That's why we have a forebridge and an even more sophisticated aft bridge. The chair on the right is for the captain/mate when manoeuvering or operating the (double K-Pos 21) DP system. You can recognize those identical consoles below on their joy-sticks. The centre colums is for equipment which have to be operated by both the captain or the chief engineer together with the manoeuvering handles, retractable azimuth thruster, bow thruster and stern thruster. The console and the chair on the left is solely for the engineer. From this chair he can operate both winches (with a pull of 600 tons), tugger winches, hydraulic sharkjaws and so on. The screen on his left side is an Engine Room screen, here he can see all the details of the main engines, power consumption, ballast, fuel and so on.
