Worn Out

Went through to the west today to do some visiting. Spotted this tablecloth at mum's and it has been around far longer that I have. She embroidered it herself and for years in my youth I went on and on about how grannyish and embarrassing it was. Funny how now I admire the craftwork, patience and skill involved. It's just as well we get older eventually, and become a bit more considerate.

It used to be in fine nick; now it is a bit more battered from the inevitable spillages, dribbles and accidents that parents in their dotage manage to create.
