New Growth.
Things are starting to grow. The line of 'cows' climbing up the hill at the back always look better after a bit of a trim. A mixed bag of weather today, blustery winds, showers and then a show of blue sky and sun late afternoon.
Birds are nesting, frogs are spawning - there is a massive blob of frogspawn in the pond' which Dill, our guest, spent yesterday afternoon trying to get out of the pond(I think he thought it was a ball) Found a scattering of birds eggs today in the garden - a nest had obviously been raided and a hole made in each egg and the contents eaten - pale blue small eggs about 1 - 1.5 cm with faint brown speckles??
My daughter now has a job with Llama Kalma - a cafe unusual on the A66 near Penrith. It also appears to be a small animal house giving a home to tiger cats ?? Llamas, runner ducks, snakes, giant cockroaches, giant rabbits and lots more. She came home today and said she had brought me a present back with her and it turned out to be a freshly shed snake skin complete with eyeholes. Fascinating! Apparently they disintegrate quite quickly. Anyone out there know how to preserve a snakeskin?
Sleep tight.
