Money.

It's budget day today so I think it's a suitable time to question what is happening to our Pound.
Yesterday LooseCanon went on a forty five mile bike ride. (Respect.) As the last of the Lycra kit had just been set to wash, he realised there was a £20 note in the pocket. He was certain it was £20, and was counting on it for his post cycling rehydration therapy at the pub later.
When it was finally rescued after an hour or two, there was only a £10 note. Oh and a 20p coin in the gunk trap.
This raises intriguing possibilities.
Has it shrunk in the wash?
Has the chancellor suddenly imposed a forty nine percent washing machine stealth tax? He's talking now and keeps going on about Difficult Decisions. Was this one of them?
I gather there are going to be new plastic notes to prevent laundry incidents of this kind. I wasn't aware the present ones are dry clean only. Will the new ones have washing instructions on them? Wash dark colours separately? Wash at 30 degrees to save the planet? (A slightly ambitious claim I've always felt.)
Wash day just got a whole lot more complicated.
There are going to be new pound coins too. All those corners will definitely wreck the washing machine.
