Norwich Cathedral
The trains were running today so we made our trip to Norwich to visit the Cathedral and Castle.
The Cathedral was built in 1096 as a monastic building but has been modified over the years. The nave window, seen here, was installed in the 15th century and is in the Gothic style as opposed to the Norman style of the main cathedral. We had a wonderful guided tour by Michael, a volunteer guide, which was fascinating and as we were the only two people on the tour he was able to tell us lots of quirky facts.
We then visited the castle which was interesting too, and arriving back at the station the information boards stated that the Ipswich bound train was cancelled due to a broken down train at Diss (just our luck). On investigation the next train was running to schedule - phew, thank goodness for that!
