Standing in admiration

I had to run several errands on the way home from work which brought me close to the artificial island so I grabbed the chance to go and see what had happened since I last stopped there. The female swan got up and off the nest shortly after I arrived at the artificial island and revealed that 5 eggs had been laid so far. One of the Great Crested Grebes was also there but I could not see how many of the chicks it was carrying on its back.
