Day 8 Smelling The Roses..Lady Norwood Rose Garden
Today we docked in at Wellington……..the home of a most wonderful Botanical Gardens and The Lady Norwood Rose Gardens.
We caught a train to take us up the hill and spent the good part of 3-4 hours meandering down through the gardens to finally arrive at the Roses.
I took lot of pics of flowers today…..there were some gorgeous specimens not to mention the friendly ducks that hung out in the pond…which needed a good clean……one duck was nibbling on a rubber glove…go figure.
The Rose garden was glorious…..and even more so I bet perhaps about a month ago……we sat at the cafe there drinking our coffee with the beautiful wafting of rose fragrance in the warm sun. Thought about MC when sitting there and felt a little disappointed at not being able to bring her home a heap of rose pics…….they were a little done and the sun too bright to get really good pics……there are a few though.
As I write this we are going through a bit of rough Ocean and I’m feeling a bit queazy…might shut up my computer now…there could be a nasty accident.
It was a lovely day with the family.
