March 21st 2009 - Luxury Banos break on bus day

Today was a bus day, with a seven hour journey to Vilcabamba on the cards. I spent the morning with a magnum, Danish lessons, the end of ‘Angels and Demons’ and watching the beautiful views. I realised on this journey just how happy I am. There is literally nothing I would rather be doing than watching these hills roll by the window with these people. We stopped off for a little lunch - $2 beef and rice in a very simple shack (as can be seen by the toilet in this photo) but the food was actually pretty good! When we finally got to Vilcabamba I went for a swim at the hostel before taking a short walk with Mia and Sara where we got to see a rainbow. I emailed Mother for Mothers Day (I wonder how long it took her to turn on the computer…) and then tried chocolate sauce on burrito (not so good) and sangria and cards (very good!).
