Welcome to Spring

Officially the first day of spring and what better way to celebrate than with this bright yellow/green bud bursting open in the sunshine.
Another visit to the lake with the hope of photographing the little grey wagtails but when I opened my camera bag I'd just got the 50mm lens. So a really enjoyable walk capturing leaves unfolding, alder cones and lichen then I came to this incredible bud. I don't know what it is, perhaps a lime - could you let me know? I walked to where the wagtails usually are and lo and behold one was so close I could have touched it, the law of sod some would say! Never mind, I have this gorgeous bud for today, the wagtails will be there another day - I hope.
