Famous Person Day

Colby's school does March Madness Fridays, today's category was Famous Person. After a few ideas were tossed around, all of which Colby thought we needed to purchase items to create a Famous Person look, I suggested he go as a Red Sox player in Spring training. He loved the idea, and I was thrilled that all of the items were already in his closet.

The beards were huge last season with the players, and Colby thought it necessary that the beard be part of his "look" today too. We made it possible by using my waterproof mascara and dabbing it all over his chin/cheeks.

I think it was a big hit - he didn't say much afterschool about it, partly because he was suffering from the latest stomach virus that's spreading its way through the school. This winter has been the worst - both weather and illness wise. He'll be OK though, we've struggled through many of these illnesses already this winter, and I'm sure we'll get through this one too.

When he does finally get better, we have some celebrating to do! For the first time this year, Colby came home with an HONOR ROLL report card! We were thrilled! The two subjects that he struggled with were pulled up from a D to a B+ and from a C to an A. We are so proud of the hard work he's put in this year, and I am hoping that he feels that pride in himself as well.

The celebration won't be just for Colby though, Kaylee came home with an Honor Roll report card as well, just missing the High Honors award. I can't explain the pride that BJ and I feel for our kiddos. They are hard working, polite, respectful young people and we plan to celebrate such achievements when Colby is feeling better.
