A long day

This is Les Menuires church (blipped a couple of weeks ago on our last visit) from our balcony tonight, when we finally arrived after leaving home at 4.30 am. The white dots are snow which is falling heavily and is expected to continue for some days. (Poor visibility is bad news for me with my poor vision, and the €250 each for lift passes not used to full potential brings anguish to Iain.)

Our early morning drive to Manchester went well, and all looked on target for our flight out, boarding in good time. Then it was announced there was a problem at Chambray, our destination, so we'd be kept on the apron for one and a half hours. When we were due to land, another announcement said that we were in hold - for three quarters of an hour. Eventually departed on the bus for the 2 hour drive to the resort but it must be yet another French half term, as we came to a halt in a traffic jam which continued for some time, then it was stop / go. It seemed like forever that my niece's 3 year old was shouting that he needed a wee. Then because we were so late, the driver's hours were up, so we had to park up and wait for a relief driver. At least my great-nephew also got some relief. Finally arrived after 15 hours travelling.

The bar and a giant g and t beckons.
