Colonial Williamsburg street scene

Our weather was wonderful in Williamsburg last week, clear and sunny during the day and clear and crisp at night. We had a terrific time wandering around town, enjoying the sights. Many of the houses had steps like the one you see here on Duke of Gloucester Street.

In front of one of these houses, we watched as a father set up his tripod, posed his wife and son on the steps, set the timer on his camera, and hurried over to take his place in the tableau. They were all dressed in their holiday finery, so sometime soon their family and friends should be receiving the annual Christmas card from this family, photographed on a beautiful afternoon in Colonial Williamsburg.

In the garden of the Governor's Palace, we watched another couple set up their tripod and take an SP. They told us they were pretending that this was their own private home, and they were delighted that no one else walked into their family photograph while they were posing. They were so delighted they even offered us the use of their tripod so we could do the same. We declined, but I gave him a Blip card and encouraged him to take a look at the BAFTA award winning Blipfoto.
