High maintenance

Following another good night's sleep, we were expecting the wee man to be back to his best today but unfortunately he seems to have regressed somewhat. He's not particularly unwell but he's been in a bit of a grump all day today. Maybe he didn't sleep quite as well as we initially thought. Oh well.

In an effort to cheer the wee fellow up and break our own cabin fever, we decided to take him on a short journey to Paphos Zoo. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from the former Bird Park but we I had an amazing time! Perhaps it was a novelty seeing animals in a warmer climate (compared to the wonderful but damp Edinburgh zoo), or perhaps it was because I saw giraffes for the first time since I was in primary school? Either way, it was great.

We saw zebras, camels, ostriches, emus, kangaroos, lions, tigers, snakes, flamingoes, lemurs, giant tortoises and plenty of peacocks strutting their stuff.

Unfortunately it didn't quite cheer the wee man up but it certainly distracted him for a couple of hours. Hopefully he'll sleep well tonight and be back on form tomorrow.
