Snow line and a mine

Cold but clear with a cheeky wind made me want to go up the hills to the snow line. The track goes past a lot of old mining remains. Here an adit cuts into the hillside as they searched for lead etc in the past. All these are very wet. The miners had to walk up the fell, about 2 to 3 miles to get to work. The were tough folk.

It was nice to jog down after the effort of climbing for over an hour. Back in half an hour, ready for lunch.
