Off to work

It's a late milking today, so I managed to make the short walk out to see the cows on the way to the cowshed. This is the closest that I have been to them since I broke my leg three weeks ago.

The cows were pregnancy tested this morning. It took 2 1/2 hours to scan each cow to see if they are in calf. It was pleasing to hear that we had an excellent in calf rate.

For those who have been enquiring as to how son T is - here's an update. He went to the Doctor this afternoon, who, after lots of testing, diagnosed a partially torn muscle from the hip bone. He is to rest, and continue with the ice. The muscle will still be bleeding internally, which sounds absolutely ghastly. We are lucky to have a Physiotherapist that visits once a week, so he starts physio in two weeks. Hopefully the muscle will attach by itself - if it doesn't then it may mean intervention to help it. There is also a chance that he won't get 100% movement back in his upper leg - hopefully this is the worse case scenario. Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts - it looks like it is going to be a long recovery. Luckily he has age, health and fitness on his side.

And lastly, many thanks to you all for the wonderful comments, stars and comments that you gave for yesterday's caterpillar blip. It crawled its way up to the front page of spotlight, where it is still munching on its leaf. You are all very kind.
