frosty fingers

Home from parents evening around 7.15pm, then marked a piece of coursework for a student who has suddenly switched on and decided to catch up, so I have done him a personal action plan to get the job done by the time we break up.
Lovely lessons today - progress is definitely the watch word in my classroom right now - its great to see the kids still working even when we are heading towards Christmas.

Drive home was a bit scary - general numptiness on the M62 through the roadworks (to close to bumbers, weaver-bird lane changes) meant that someone span their car in lane 3 as I was going past and hit the central safety barrier - which ironically is being repaired at the moment. The noise was enough to rattle me! Fortunately, I do keep safe distance and stay steady so I was in no danger - and more fortunate was the people behind this car had all been keeping well back so there was no big pile up as a result.

I've been published - great surprise today to find that one of my photos had been published inthe local paper alongside an article about our presentation eveningfrom a couple of weeks ago.

Lovely Parents evening - great to be able to tell parents, with their offspring there, exactly how hard they are working. I'm seeing some students really blossom at the moment, turning their heads the right way and proving that teaching really is a worthwhile vocation.

Now, its hot bath to warm my frozen hands from standing outside in the cold taking photos of the moon reflected in puddles. The things we do for blip :-)
