The new Welshpool railway station

Welshpool used to have a nice old railway station. It still does, but the old building is now a coffee bar come shop and the old track has been pulled up to redirect the bypass traffic. Instead of a new station there is a long and ghastly wind-swept platform and a 'shelter' adequate for no more than half a dozen people. Today there were about forty waiting to board, and being Wales it was of course raining. Hard.
