Dorchester On Thames...

... Where I had a most pleasant fuddle today, with three girlfriends.
(Three friends who are women? Three ladyfriends?... Anyway...).

We had a lovely lunch (including totally ambrosial parnip and celery soup and home made rolls).
Then we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the historic Dorchester Abbey.
We took our time and read all the little bits of information (which were printed on nicely laminated A4 sheets at strategic and sacred spots) that one usually has to rush through, because someone else is waiting.
('No I've finished. Really. Honestly'. 'After you.').
So, we came away suitably enlightened on subjects like Jesse Windows and lead fonts, and St Birinus.

And also the St Michael, St Mary and Belinus ley lines (which info was not provided on nicely laminated sheets paper or mentioned in the Abbey!).

Such fun!

Back home via signs on lamp posts reminding us that it's the World Pooh Sticks Championship on Sunday. Who knew?
