The Wild Wild West

By Beedoesthis

I must go down to the seas again,

to the lonely sea and the sky

I went from the second largest parish church in England yesterday, to the largest parish church in Cornwall today. It does seem to be the season for churches. I was pretty much handed the keys to the church and all their plate, but focused on cleaning some dirt off the reredos rather than heading to a scrap metal yard.

A sunny day that finally culminated in the beach at Newquay. The beach really is the best bit of Newquay, and given the windy weather it wasn't that much fun there either. Having dropped one lens and almost been blown off a rock I retreated to a Wetherspoons, having flashbacks of last time I was here and the drunkest pair known to man (at 7.30pm on a school night). Tonight I got to listen to 'but I love you babe' interspersed with a boring barrister/politico tell his pupil (he was way beyond that stage) what exactly he thought would happen in the case of the Deputy Speaker. There was a moment where I thought I ought to chime in, but pulled myself back into John Buchan just in time.
