Stirred up and 'Starred Up' in Edinburgh
I didn't bother going out for pizza last night after all and my stomach growling woke me early this morning. I gave up trying to doze by 6:15 and got in the shower instead. I love the shower here and if I wasn't here in Edinburgh, I'd stay in that shower all day.
Anyway, i was pipped to my usual window table by two men from Manchester and so I sat at a table on the side instead managing not to give the evil eye! I ordered the same as yesterday (yes, haggis too!) and I was halfway through it when Seattle Man appeared and sat at the table next to me. He told David he was really hungry this morning and adventurously ordered the full Highland Hearty. He told me he'd been taken to the pub after his first meeting with his new colleagues and had drunk rather a lot last night but was looking forward to his breakfast. His brave talk didn't last very long as he turned several shades of green when the plate did arrive and he ate less than a quarter of it! I left him to his concentrating on not throwing up and went back upstairs to get ready to go out.
It wasn't quite as bright a day as yesterday but it was still pleasant so I wandered about in Princes Street Gardens for an hour to start with. Mom phoned me while I was there and suggested meeting me in Glasgow to swap my big coat for a jacket! I didn't feel the need to do that so I declined and went to the Cameo Cinema after a few bus rides and saw 'Starred Up' which I wouldn't recommend to anyone actually! It was quite a horrible British prison drama in which a father and son end up fighting against each other. There were plenty of slit throats and beatings throughout the film along with a mobile phone being extracted from someone's arse! Urrrgghh! I came out feeling tense and nauseous.
I spent most of the rest of the day walking about, took a few pictures in St Cuthbert's graveyard with the castle above, went out to Ocean Terminal, back to town for pizza and a decent conditioner for my hair (the 3-in-1 shower gel, shampoo and conditioner I brought with me is turning me into an electric furze bush!) and then headed back to Ferry Road on the number 11. A very grumpy man on the bus was moaning at the driver and demanding to know why no one was working on the road diversion and hadn't at all this week. The driver said he had no idea. The man kept moaning and groaning regardless and I felt quite sorry for the bus driver when I got off.
That's it. Nothing else to report. I'm meeting pals in The Hanging Bat tomorrow afternoon so I have no idea what I'll be posting as a blip tomorrow evening.
