Moving on

We had a Kirk Session meeting this evening to look at the Annual Report. It was eventful as it was Christine's last formal occasion as our Session Clerk, a role she has fulfilled over the past 5 years with charm and dedication and forberance.

She will be a hard act to follow. Her voice may be better known publicly for readings of her internationally known poetry but her delicious Shetland accent will be irreplaceable. There are two people I can just sit and listen to with pleasure at the accent and the rhythm of their voice: Christine and my cousin Roy Foster with his Waterford cadences.

While Christine is moving on she is not disappearing and I look forward to her company in the future. Meantime this shot, sneaked at the meeting, to me captures her warmth and personality.
