Pumping Station!
Found this relic among the orange groves at Larnanjal. There was water at the bottom of the well and a complicated system of ratchets and wheels obviously used to turn the ladders with the buckets. The whole thing no doubt driven by mule power!
The orange groves are delightful. The oranges are small and very sweet and juicy but not shiny as they are in the supermarkets. Some of the trees were laden with fruit but many still had blossom on them and the scent was lovely.
Lazy day today, but back to golf tomorrow, weather set fair but still a stiff breeze off the Atlantic.
