Seaton Tramway
This is the Seaton Tramway, a 838mm (2ft 9 inch) gauge electric tramway that runs along the former route of the London & Southwest Railway from Seaton to Colyton along side of the River Axe for some 3 miles, passing through two nature reserves and has great view of the flocks of wading birds that gather there at low tide.
In the recent heavy rain and floods some half mile of track was washed away and it had just been repaired just in time for the Easter Holidays. Circled is the track repair wagon
Many moons ago, whilst serving in the Devon & Cornwall Police I had occasion to
commander one of there trams to search along the track for an escaped prisoner!
