Geothermal power station

New Zealand was one of the first to use geothermal to create electricity. Locals had of course always used it for cooking heating etc. This is an expansion loop in the foreground. They are about 300 m apart along the multitude of steam collecting pipes that go for kilometres.
Also to Volcano Land done by IGNS. (Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences). Very informative for a a scientist and engineer. Lunch at L'Arte where the surrounds are full of distinctive and colourful art works, made of corten steel, of wood, of ceramics and mosaics. Life size couches chairs and fireplace and even a window of mosaics, brightly coloured ceramic flowers, birds, fish, large nikau palm trees all cleverly created. Like Wunderhauser.
Next a swim at Acacia (sounds like RKCA) Bay, then sunned while being amused with the antics of ducks (feeding), swans (courting ), and sparrows (bathing in the lake). Ended day wandering at the Botanical Reserve where there is huge number of different trees. So many pics to chose from.
