after yesterday's blip, you may be forgiven for thinking that she's the Crazy Cat Lady Jnr but, actually, she's the Crazy Bird Lady. She bought these wonderful solar powered birds in Ikea yesterday. They are great.
In real-bird-land there is a lot of nest building going on. This seems to consist of:
fly over to neighbouring farm
collect beakful of straw
fly up big tree at Spitzi's house
drop all the straw out of beak
watch Spitzi sweep up the straw
repeat
when bored, do the same with small sticks
There is straw and bits of stick e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e
in other news: why didn't anyone tell me how long-winded and tedious the Sound of Music is? OK, it's sweet and Mary Poppins does well as Maria but why all the bloody footage of Austria? Why not just write "Austria, end of the 1930s" at the beginning and then just get on with it? I reckon I could tell the story in about five minutes. Add some songs and make that ten. Maximum.
I'm drinking the last of the Talisker in the hope that it will stop me dreaming about it all in some kind of weird dream about sweeping up straw whilst singing in harmony with hundreds of little Austrian kids......
