Grey Geese
From by the back door.
First thought: the last of the Pink-footed Geese this year, late to leave for the Arctic.
Then, second thoughts. Small flock, no high-pitched bickering, rather late for the migrants… Must be Greylag. Both have pink feet, though these are decidedly muddied by the field, but the bills are different. Size, too, but no comparisons available.
Whichever way, I rushed from the study with the long lens, hoping to get them eating and then flying. I got the flying, but hadn't time to adjust the shutter speed, so very movement-blurred.
