A Close Encounter??

So there I was this morning, happily chopping sticks for the fire, when this appeared.
Is this conclusive proof of some alien race whose remains have been preserved in this piece of wood?
I have not drawn anything on it. This is for real!
A busy morning and it's not even eleven o' clock.
Taken Lucy out for a walk.
( Thanks everyone for asking for Joe. He seems a good bit better although still a little shaky on his back leg. He has the vet again next week )
