Seaside Cottages

This row of cottages is along the route we frequently take in Oceanside. We combine exercise, fresh air, and a stop at a favorite watering hole once or twice a month. The little "cookie cutter" cottages date from around 1928, and were built as a seaside version of the motor hotels of the time. They are literally steps from the sand. Today most of them are beach rentals, but occasionally one of them is offered for sale. I saw on one real estate comparison site that the 288 square foot structures often go for more than $500,000! Location, location, location...

We joke that the doors are painted different colors so that you don't walk into the wrong cottage at the end of the day.
