Ashmolean

The sun shone and I got my hands dirty in the garden before cycling into Oxford for a rooftop lunch with Bundle at the Ashomolean. We ate freshly grilled asparagus with duck eggs and salad surrounded by the rooftops of the Taylorian Institute. I was unable to get tickets for the Cezanne exhibition, and to make my peace with him after being forced to copy too many of his works as my 'designated artist' during A levels long ago. However I did discover the wonderful Kevin Coates and his Bestiary of Jewels. My favourites were A Dodo for Mr Dodgson and A Rabbit for Fibonacci. There's little on the internet featuring these wonderful works, but a few can be seen here.. Not half as wonderful as real life though….
