Mission accomplished, and Mr M suggested that it would be a good idea to go to Ikea in Gateshead to acquire a shoe rack for our newly decorated hall. Some time later, we emerged from the store with a shoe rack, 4 throws, a storage box, a bread board, some table mats and two skirt hangers...

The area around Gateshead Metro Centre and Retail Park on a Saturday are our idea of hell on earth - thousands of cars. Having vowed that if we go back it will be early morning mid-week, we headed home away from the traffic via a rural route. A pleasant stroll in Thrunton Woods and a stop in Wooler on the way
