Gingerbread

Upon returning from our weekend away, we spent a cozy evening by the fire, assembling and decorating a gingerbread house from a kit some friends gave us. Or in E's case, swiping as much frosting and as many candies as he could get away with. I love this photo, as he enjoys yet another treat and glances sideways to see if Dad is watching.

We even ate dinner in the living room tonight, just to stay close to the fire. It was wonderful!

We did a ton of fun things this weekend and saw many old friends, so I'm not sure how I managed to neglect snapping even a single Saturday photo - but I did.

Now, happy to be home and headed into a new week. Hopefully it will be a healthier week than last, as our little A was out of school with scarlet fever for a few days. We were glad she recovered in time to enjoy the weekend trip, and are hoping we're done with illness for 2009! (Knock on wood.)
