Delabole Slate
It is big & deep. This is the open cast Slate Mine at Delabole, Cornwall.
I called here for a quick look having passed it on numerous occasions & never stopped. I was amazed how deep it really was..press L to see the large machines collecting the slate for all manner of application, roof tiles, window sills, fire places etc etc.
Decided to drive over to Trebarwith Strand for a coffee in the pub that has lovely views over the coast with beautiful on-shore rock formations & caves. There is a lovely beach too. Following the coffee we continued up the coast to Tintagel. C likes the shops here & I like the pasties !!
Following a brief look around C was interrupted by the rain. She came back empty handed Then we continued to Boscastle where the heavens opened.
Back to the ranch with the intention of going out to dinner later. Now we are here we may not move......lovely bright morning / early afternoon turning to rain.
Fine now at 1800hrs.
