Huntingrove Farm Bridge

This had not been my intended picture today! However, I was not able to park where I needed to as the space was taken, so I went on further after work to Slinfold and a short walk along the disused railway.

This bridge crosses over the Downs Link long distance footpath. This runs from Guildford to Shoreham on the coast and links the North and South Downs using two stretches of disused railway. The bridge in the picture would have crossed the Horsham to Guildford line just up from Slinfold. This line opened in 1865 and fell victim to the Beeching cuts in 1965. The line was always single track, but the infrastructure was designed so that the line could be doubled which never happened. The bridge carries a track and footpath between a nearby farm and woods and fields.
