Through The Garden Wall
Today we went to Polesden Lacey, another large National Trust property and certainly one of their most popular. It was absolutely heaving, it being Mother's Day. We did have an excellent lunch as the food here is extremely good. The Estate also includes many miles of footpaths as well as the gardens and the house itself. So there is lots to see and do. This view is looking through a circular opening on the south side of the Walled Garden looking into it at a leaden statue thats stands on a plinth. The Walled Garden is very formal with box hedging and lots of roses that are very good in season.
This is also a good place to people watch, especially as it was so crowded today! While we were walking from the house to the garden a young woman over 18 was passed with grandparents wearing a very short grey partly pleated mini skirt. It was so short nobody could miss it.... Then the inevitable.... Yes there was a gust of wind and up it went to reveal black stockings, suspenders and black panties - priceless!
