Not Stalking, honest

We had to go to town again today. Mr C had to visit the wine shop and get his few remaining hairs cut. I had things to do too. After a dash to the ski gear sale in L D Mountain Sports, I was hurrying up Grey Street in the rain when I heard the melodious playing of the Northumbrian small pipes coming from Central Arcade. It was the same chap I'd stopped to listen to in Northumberland Street a few weeks ago. Here he was again, well-sheltered from the rain, but the downside was there were few passers-by to drop in any money. It really was lovely to listen to and worth the detour into the arcade. Hopefully he doesn't think he has a stalker.

After that I signed up for a new phone contract - £9 a month for 100 minutes of calls, 500 texts and internet. Bargain I think as I'm not a heavy user. Then I took the metro out to meet a friend after her shift in the Oxfam book shop. We had some lunch in a little Italian cafe owned by my daughter's neighbours, then I met Mr C as we'd agreed to look after Ella and Nathaniel while their mum had to go to take a meeting, despite being on maternity leave. Mr C decided he'd have the sleeping baby and I could take Miss Ella out to the park. We spent 2 happy hours on slides, swings etc before I took her home for dinner. She ate bean and cabbage soup, followed by a roast veg cous cous (the olives were the best bit - she counted 3 and asked for more) then she had a few grapes and a drink of water. She 'read' me some stories, watched her one TV programme 'In the Night Garden' and was all ready for bed at 7pm. Her speaking has developed quickly since she was two 6 weeks ago - we have proper conversations which I love.

I'm having a day at home tomorrow!
