Sensing Spaces
I spent this morning at the 'Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined' exhibition at the Royal Academy. It's a wonderfully creative exploration of the way in which different structures, textures, lighting, scents and colours all influence our perception of, and response to, the spaces we inhabit.
I particularly liked this installation, which produced a wonderful sense of peace, calm and tranquillity the moment I entered it. Wandering slowly round it was a very meditative experience. There were a number of small rooms leading off the walkway: simply-furnished cells which offered a space for quiet reflection.
