Basket case

Another desperation blip with the mobile. For 32 years, this man sat on a step on the next corner down, mending chairs. Then he was chased off by a hulk demanding protection money and moved next to the fruit seller and the man in the kiosk, who sells chicken to an ever-increasing clientele. All three are great characters – the chicken man is a philosopher, the fruit seller a connoisseur of traditional samba and the chair mender – well, he’s an artisan and a thoroughly nice man. I just hate to think of the effect on his back of his low seating arrangement.

Trudging through the chores today. Some progress made, but my office still has a long way to go. Blame the time out for a medical check-up in the afternoon.
