master craftsman

This is David Coles and he and his team make beautiful, glowing professional oil paints just bursting with a 'blood and guts' vitality.
He gave a talk and demonstration at a local art supplies shop today and what a treat to be there.

The paints are made in batches no larger than 20 litres and from each batch there is even more attention to detail...and I love this part!!.
The coloured strips on each tube are hand cut from a sheet painted with the colour from that particular batch!
How cool is that.

Very tempting.
I may have to creep out of the pen and paper corner, grab a canvas and have a go :)

David reminds me of my drawing teacher Cedric. Always ready to share his knowledge and passion without getting bogged down in 'secret squirrel' stuff.
